Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, born in 1824, was a prominent and influential figure in Indian history, known for his contributions to nation-building and reform. He was the founder of the Arya Samaj. His teachings and philosophy had a profound impact not only in India but also in various countries, including Mauritius.
In commemoration of the 200th Birth Anniversary of Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati, Arya Sabha Mauritius launched a special stamp to honor his legacy and the impact of his teachings. The Arya Samaj, founded by Maharishi Dayanand Saraswati in 1875 in Bombay.

Cultural Heritage & Religion
Encouraging cultural and religious activities since 120 years through the propagation of Vedic philosophy.
Education
Promoting education (formally and informally) through 225 evening schools & Baitkas, 2 Primary, 3 Secondary, 1 Post Secondary & 3 Special Education Need Schools whilst focusing on citizenship education.
Social Service
Supporting social service through 6 residential care homes for elderly persons and 1 shelter for children and 1 day-care de-addiction centre for substance abusers.
Health Care
Promoting health care by offering treatment and counselling services for those indulging in substance abuse and regular sensitisation campaign through Yoga, Ayurveda and healthy diet.
